CTET 2020 Registration: Application Form, Eligibility Criteria, Examination Process and Key Dates
The Central Board of Secondary Education conducts the C-TET exam every year for the appointment of teachers in secondary education schools.

CTET 2020 Expected Changes
NCTE is planning to introduce a new curriculum Integrated Teacher Education Program (ITEP) which will replace B.Ed and D.El.Ed syllabus from next academic session.

How to apply for C-Tate 2020 exam
The application forms for C-Tate 2020 will be available online on the official website. Applicants are advised to read the instructions carefully and also read the eligibility criteria before applying for the exam. Applicants will have to enter all the actual information during the application process as required.
- Candidates will have to visit the official website of CTET (to be notified).
- Go to the online registration section.
- Complete Your Registration.
- Fill in your application form.
- Upload required images in the specified format.
- Please pay the fee as given below.
Before applying please be sure to keep the following documents:
Scanned copy of latest signature and photograph in JPG format.
A copy of class X certificate..
Decide payment method
Online using credit card / debit card;
Through E-Challan (it can be downloaded from the official website)
(If you pay using credit / debit card, be sure to check the validity of the card;}
If you pay using e-challan, download it after the completion of Part II. Then go to Syndicate or Canara Bank to make payment.
Candidates can get the confirmation page only after CTET / Bank has confirmed your payment.
Candidates are not required to send hard copies of the application form. However, they have to preserve it for future reference.
The application fee can be paid either online (through debit / credit card) or offline (through HDFC or e-challan bank at Syndicate Bank).
The application fee for general and OBC categories is Rs. 700 / – (for Paper I or II) and Rs. 1200 / – (for both papers I and II).
The application fee for reserved categories is Rs. 350 / – (for Paper I or II) and Rs. 600 / – (for both papers I and II).
CTET Eligibility Criteria
For primary stage (standard I to V)
Applicants should have obtained minimum 50% marks in the Higher Secondary Examination and passed or pursued in the final year of the 2-year Diploma course in Elementary Education. or
As per the NCTE Regulations 2002, applicants should have passed or passed with minimum 45% marks in the final year of a 2-year diploma course in primary education.
Applicants must have passed secondary secondary scoring with a minimum of 50% marks and must have passed or pursued the final year of 4 years of Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.). or
Applicants must have passed or passed Higher Secondary Scoring with a minimum of 50% marks in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Education. or
Applicants should complete a bachelor’s degree and pass a 2-year diploma in elementary education.
VI to VII
Applicants should complete a bachelor’s degree and pass a 2-year diploma in elementary education. or
Applicants must have completed a Bacheor degree with a minimum of 50% marks and passed or pursued a 1 year course in Bachelor in Education. or
Applicants must complete a bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 45% marks and pass or pursue a 1-year Bachelor of Education in accordance with NCTE rules and regulations published from time to time. or
Applicants must have completed a bachelor’s degree in minimum 50% scoring and have passed a 1-year B.Ed course. or
Applicants must have passed 12th standard with a minimum of 50% marks and must have passed or pursued the final year of 4 years in primary education. or
Applicants must have completed 12th with minimum 50% marks and B.Sc.Ed. / B.A. Or B.Sc.Ed./B.Ed.
CTET Examination Process 2020
- This exam will be based on multiple choice questions.
2. The total number of questions in the examination papers will be 150.
3. There will be 1 mark for each question in the papers.
4. The time for both the papers is 2 hours and 30 minutes.
5. The questions asked in the examination paper will be related to the following topics:
General Mathematics, Environmental Studies, Social Studies / Science
After filling the application form, CTET admit card will be issued to the candidates. Separate admit card will be issued for both the examinations. The admit card can be downloaded from the official website of CBSE two or three weeks before the date of CTET exam.
Three or four weeks after the examination, the examination results of the candidates present in the examination will be available on the official website. Candidates will be able to download their exam results in pdf format. Based on the test results, the candidates can apply for the appointment of teaching.
