1. SEMICON India 2026 Held in New Delhi

The fifth edition of SEMICON India 2026 was held from 17 to 19 September 2026 at Yashobhoomi, New Delhi.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the event on 17 September.

The theme of SEMICON India 2026 was:

"Silicon to Systems: Building the Ecosystem"

The event brought together semiconductor companies, policymakers, investors, researchers, startups and academic institutions.

More than 600 exhibitors participated, including around 300 international companies, with representatives from 52 countries. The event recorded 56 MoUs, announcements and strategic initiatives.

2. India–New Zealand Free Trade Agreement to Enter into Force

India and New Zealand formally ratified their Free Trade Agreement (FTA) during September 2026.

The agreement is scheduled to enter into force on 20 October 2026.

India stated that the agreement will provide zero-duty access for 100% of India's exports to New Zealand from day one.

The agreement covers areas including textiles, leather, footwear, engineering products and agricultural processing.
