7th Pay Commission Calculator

When the 7th Pay Commission came into force on 1 January 2016, existing pay was multiplied by a fitment factor to reach the new basic. This applies it to your pre-revised pay.

Optional. Fixes the result at the matrix cell the rules place it in.

Rates in force on this date are used, so a past fixation can be checked against its own rules.

How to use this calculator

  1. Enter your basic pay before the revision (pay in the pay band plus grade pay).
  2. Choose your pay level after the revision, to fix the result at its cell in the matrix.
  3. Choose the date, and calculate.

How it is calculated

Revised basic is pre-revised pay multiplied by the fitment factor of 2.57, rounded to the rupee.

The result is then fixed in the pay matrix at the cell equal to it or, if there is none, the next higher cell of your level.

Worked example

Pre-revised pay of ₹17,140 (Grade Pay 4600) multiplied by 2.57 is ₹44,050. In the matrix, pay is fixed at the first cell of the level at or above that figure — ₹44,900, the first cell of Level 7.
