How it is calculated
DA is basic pay times the rate in force on the date you choose, taken from the government’s DA orders.
Revisions take effect on 1 January and 1 July but are usually announced months later and paid with arrears. A date after the last announced revision uses the latest announced rate.
Worked example
A basic of ₹50,000 on 1 August 2026 compared with 1 August 2025: the result shows DA on both dates and what the revisions in between add a month and a year.
