DA Calculator

Dearness allowance is a percentage of basic pay, revised twice a year. Enter your basic and a date to see DA at the rate then in force, and a second date to see what a revision is worth.

Rates in force on this date are used, so a past fixation can be checked against its own rules.

How to use this calculator

  1. Enter your basic pay.
  2. Choose the date to calculate DA for.
  3. Optionally choose an earlier date to compare against.
  4. Calculate to see DA, the rate used, the monthly and yearly difference, and every DA rate held since 2023.

How it is calculated

DA is basic pay times the rate in force on the date you choose, taken from the government’s DA orders.

Revisions take effect on 1 January and 1 July but are usually announced months later and paid with arrears. A date after the last announced revision uses the latest announced rate.

Worked example

A basic of ₹50,000 on 1 August 2026 compared with 1 August 2025: the result shows DA on both dates and what the revisions in between add a month and a year.
