How it is calculated
Dearness allowance and HRA are paid at the rates for civilian central government employees: DA at the rate in force on your date, HRA by the city class of your station.
Military Service Pay is a flat amount by rank under the 7th Pay Commission: ₹15,500 a month for officers up to Brigadier and ₹5,200 for JCOs and other ranks. It is not paid above Brigadier.
Worked example
A sepoy on a basic of ₹21,700 in an X-class station on 1 August 2026: Military Service Pay of ₹5,200, DA at 60% and HRA at 30%, with the gross in the table.
