How it is calculated
Industrial DA is linked to the consumer price index and revised every quarter.
Perks and allowances are a percentage of basic that each undertaking sets within the government’s ceiling, so the figure here is typical rather than exact for any one company.
Worked example
An executive at the start of grade E3 (₹60,000): the table shows IDA, perks, HRA and the gross. IDA is marked typical, because it changes every quarter.
