How it is calculated
Revised basic is current basic multiplied by a fitment factor and rounded up, the same method used for the 7th Pay Commission.
Until the factor is notified, the calculation uses the 7th Pay Commission’s 2.57 as a placeholder, or the factor you enter. The table beside it shows 1.92, 2.28, 2.57 and 2.86 — figures that have been discussed in public, and every one an assumption.

When will the 8th Pay Commission be implemented?
That is decided by the government after the Commission reports. Until it is notified, any date or fitment factor is a guess, and this page will change when the official figure is published.
