CGPA to Percentage Calculator
Government forms often ask for a percentage when your marksheet gives a CGPA. There is no single formula: use the conversion your university prints, and this applies it.
How to use this calculator
- Enter your CGPA.
- Choose the method your university uses: CGPA times a factor, (CGPA − 0.75) × 10, or CGPA ÷ 4 × 100 on a 4-point scale.
- If it is a factor, enter it — 9.5 is common, but check your marksheet.
- Calculate to see the percentage and the formula used.
How it is calculated
Most universities publish a factor to multiply CGPA by; 9.5 is common on a 10-point scale.
Some use (CGPA − 0.75) × 10 instead, and some on a 4-point scale use CGPA ÷ 4 × 100. They give different answers for the same CGPA, which is why this asks rather than assumes.
A recruiter checks your percentage against the conversion on your marksheet or a certificate from your university, not against a general formula.
Worked example
A CGPA of 8.2 multiplied by 9.5 is 77.9%.
