If part of your marks are already in, this tells you how many more you need to finish at a target percentage — and what percentage that means on the papers still to come.
How to use this calculator
- Enter the percentage you want to finish with.
- Enter the total marks across everything — the papers already done and those still to come.
- Enter the marks you have already scored and what those papers were out of.
- Calculate to see the marks still needed and the percentage required on the rest.
How it is calculated
The marks needed overall are the target percentage of the total.
Take away what you have already scored, and the remainder is what the papers still to come must give you.
Divide that by the marks still available to get the percentage you need on them. Over 100% means the target can no longer be reached.
Worked example
For 60% of 500 marks you need 300 in all. With 245 already scored out of 400, you still need 55 of the remaining 100 — 55% on what is left.
